Darndale Village Centre

The programmatic elements of the village centre are housed in a single storey u-shaped block grouped around an external garden. At the head of the block is the community resource centre, the “hub’. The hub occupies a pivotal position mediating between the established enclosure of the village and the broader community while connecting the associated external spaces of the garden and the plaza. The remaining accomodation is established around the enclosed garden, an ambulatory or public circulation route linking them together. The volume rises and falls in height repecting the various internal uses of the rooms.
